A timetable describes a class’s recurring weekly schedule for a selected academic year and term. It can cover the whole class or add a schedule for one section.

Build a timetable

Create a timetable for a year, term, and class; select a section when the schedule is section-specific. Add slots for the days and times that apply. Each slot is either:
  • a subject lesson, with a school subject and optionally a teacher and location; or
  • an activity, such as assembly, break, or club, with an activity name and any relevant details.
Elective subjects can be scheduled even if they are not listed as compulsory for the class. Add resources to a timetable or slot when useful: each resource has a title, optional description, and type such as a link, image, video, course, CBT test, assignment, or Classroom event. Assignments can contain written instructions without a URL; other resource types use a URL. Class-wide schedules apply to all sections. Section schedules add section-specific slots. Planner checks schedules for overlapping class and teacher assignments, including conflicts with the class-wide timetable.

Draft, publish, and archive

Timetables begin as drafts. Review the schedule and publish it when it is ready for students. Editing a published timetable returns it to draft, so publish it again after review. Archiving preserves the old timetable and makes it read-only; create a replacement rather than editing an archived schedule. Students can view published timetables for the class and section recorded in their Annual for the selected year. If the current year’s Annual has not been created, Planner uses the student’s current class and section for the current year only. Class-wide schedules also apply to students in the class’s sections. Students cannot view drafts or archived records. Teachers can manage schedules within their assigned class scope and can edit only current-year plans. Admins and deans can manage school timetables.

Print

Use Download timetable PDF for a landscape printout. A section timetable includes its published class-wide schedule together with the section’s own slots. A school or visible-class print includes the published schedules available to you.
