# Schemes of Work

> Prepare weekly teaching guides, use AI to draft them, and publish them for students.

A scheme of work is a teaching guide for a selected academic year, term, class, subject, and optional section. It describes what to teach, not when a lesson is scheduled.

## Add weekly entries

Each entry is assigned a week number and can include:

* **Topic** — the subject or theme for the entry.
* **Learning objectives** — what learners should know or be able to do.
* **Content** — the key concepts, facts, explanations, examples, or class material.
* **Attachments** — optional references, assignments, or other resources. Assignments may contain written instructions without a URL.

A week can have multiple entries. Attach resources to the whole scheme for shared references, or to an individual entry for week-specific material. A scheme does not set timetable slots or lesson times.

## Draft with AI

In the scheme editor, AI can **Generate** a draft for a new scheme, **Improve** existing entries, or **Add entries** after the existing weeks. The selected year, term, class, optional section, and subject provide the context.

For Generate and Add entries, choose the number of weeks and distinct teaching slots per week. A draft is limited to 24 entries. Improve preserves the existing entry count, week grouping, and order. AI drafts the overview, topics, learning objectives, and teaching content; it does not create dates, attachments, URLs, or school-specific policies.

Review the generated overview and entries before applying them. Applying updates the open editor only. The scheme is not saved until you use its normal save action. Check the draft against the school's curriculum and pacing before publishing.

## Publish, access, and print

Teachers can manage schemes for classes and subjects assigned to them and can edit only current-year plans. Admins and deans can manage school schemes and assign a teacher. Students can read published schemes for their recorded class and section; they cannot edit plans or view drafts and archived schemes.

Use **Download scheme PDF** to print the guide with the school, subject, class/section, year, and term in its heading.
